# Experiential Learning

Our faculty are adept at creating experiential learning opportunities for our students. Our award-winning Model UN team participates in two Model UN conferences each year.

History faculty involve students in [Reacting to the Past](https://reacting.barnard.edu/), an active-learning approach in which students assume the roles of characters in a pivotal historical situation. Professor Jennifer Edwards even wrote a [game](https://reactingconsortium.org/games/christine1413) for the series!

## Internships

We encourage students to do an internship, to explore their career interests, get work experience, and make connections.

Because of our location in New York City, Manhattan University students have a rich diversity of internship opportunities – and our students also intern in DC, elsewhere in the US, and in other countries. Students in History, Political Science and International Studies have interned in a wide variety of places, including the offices of elected officials, museums, media organizations, non-profit organizations, law firms, and more. Our faculty are eager to help students identify the kind of internship that will match their interests.

Some recent internships have included:

- Policy Leadership Intern at US Department of State
- Digital Politics Intern at NBC News
- Diplomacy Intern at National Committee on US-China Relations
- Courtroom Assistant at Leodori & Vorhees, PC, Attorneys at Law
