It also recognizes those who aspire to make Hispanic contributions to modern culture better known to English-speaking people. The society seeks to: - encourage students to acquire a greater interest in and deeper understanding of Hispanic culture - foster friendly relations and mutual respect between the nations of Hispanic speech and those of English speech The Manhattan University chapter, Theta Mu, was established in 1956. ### Eligibility Students with an overall 3.0 GPA who have taken at least three Spanish courses at or above the 300-level and have maintained a 3.5 average in those courses are invited to join.
