Omicron Delta Epsilon is one of the world's largest academic honor societies. The society seeks to:

- recognize scholastic attainment
- honor outstanding achievements in economics
- establish closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among other colleges and universities

Omicron Delta Epsilon produces The American Economist, a bi-annual, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research and review articles. The society also sponsors panels at professional meetings and hosts an economics competition.

### Eligibility

To qualify for membership, undergraduates must have:

- 12 credits of study in economics, including some intermediate theory (or approved 400-level economics course), an economics GPA of 3.25 or higher, and an overall GPA of 3.2 or better.
