Manhattan University is home to more than three dozen national and international honor societies that recognize the highest scholarship across every school, discipline, and field of study.

  ## Alpha Epsilon Delta

**The national honor society for health pre-professionals.**

Founded in 1926, Alpha Epsilon Delta encourages and recognizes excellence in pre-professional health scholarship. It functions as both an honor society and a service organization, supporting members in civic engagement and offering opportunities to attend an annual convention and compete for scholarships. Manhattan University established its chapter in 2017.

   ## Alpha Iota Delta

**The national honor society for decision sciences and information systems.**

Founded in 1971, Alpha Iota Delta confers distinction on students in the decision sciences and information systems disciplines for academic excellence and promotes interest in the field. Manhattan University established the Delta Chi chapter in 1992.

   ## Alpha Kappa Delta

**The international honor society for sociology.**

Alpha Kappa Delta is dedicated to promoting outstanding scholarship in sociology, research into social problems, and other intellectual activities that lead to the improvement of the human condition. The society was founded in 1920 at the University of Southern California, and Manhattan University's chapter was established in 1984.

   ## Alpha Sigma Lambda

**An honor society celebrating the scholarship and leadership of adult students.**

Alpha Sigma Lambda partners with colleges and universities to recognize nontraditional students continuing their education, and is devoted to the advancement of scholarship among them. The first chapter was founded in 1946 at Northwestern University, and Manhattan University's chapter was established in 2012.

   ## Beta Alpha Psi

**The international honor organization for financial information students and professionals.**

Beta Alpha Psi serves students and professionals in business programs accredited by AACSB International, with more than 300 chapters nationwide and over 300,000 members initiated since its formation. The society encourages scholastic and professional excellence in accounting, finance, and information systems, and promotes a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. Manhattan University's chapter was established in 2006.

**The national civil engineering honor society.**

   ## Epsilon Sigma Pi

**University-wide honor society exclusive to Manhattan University.**

Membership in this Society is the highest scholastic honor for which undergraduates of all programs of the University are eligible. Induction requires a cumulative scholarship index of not less than 3.50, and the society is open to the highest-achieving students across every school at Manhattan University.

   ## Kappa Alpha Omicron

**The honor society recognizing excellence in environmental studies and science.**

Kappa Alpha Omicron recognizes exceptional students within the environmental studies and science majors. Since its inception in fall 2020, the Manhattan University KAO chapter has grown significantly, engaging in community-service projects such as local park cleanups and trail restoration, and presenting student research at the Interdisciplinary Environmental Association's annual international conference.

Manhattan University's Mu Sigma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, established in 1968, is one of the most active honor societies on campus. The chapter sponsors an annual service trip abroad and supports community-service efforts throughout the year, including events for neighborhood children such as Safe Halloween, Winter Wonderland, and Literacy Alive, along with career panels focused on the education field.

Phi Alpha Theta has more than 350,000 members across over 800 chapters nationwide. The society sponsors an annual convention and produces the quarterly magazine The Bent. Since Manhattan University's New York Xi chapter was founded in 1967, more than 2,000 members have been initiated.
