Green Power & Sustainable Energy - Advanced Certificate

This post-baccalaureate renewable energy certificate is for working professionals looking to gain:

It is vital for professionals in all industries to understand how our energy sources affect the environment and how corporations can develop and use green power on a larger scale. In this interdisciplinary program offered by the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, you also will learn from faculty teaching in the School of Engineering and the O'Malley School of Business. Students in this program have access to the companies and industries leading in green power, including energy, healthcare, business, and the nonprofit sector. 

Flexibility in Completing Your Degree

For added flexibility, the green power and sustainable energy advanced certificate is a blended program. Note: While the majority of the program can be completed online, there is at least one in-person course required to receive your certificate.

Students can complete this program in less than one year and upon completion they will have earned 15 graduate-level credits and a certificate from Manhattan College, an accredited institution. 

You don't need to have an engineering or science background.

The advanced certificate program is designed to appeal to individuals in all professions who are interested in renewable energy and sustainability solutions that affect markets. It provides students with the tools to integrate and evaluate sustainable energy needs in engineering, management, finance, law and other fields.

Students who complete this program will have the tools and strategies necessary to: 

  • Generate and utilize renewable energy sources
  • Develop effective solutions to the sustainability challenges facing business organizations.
  • Understand the decision-making for sustainability 
  • Learn the fundamental physics behind energy, energy conversion, power production, delivery systems, regulation, and markets.
  • Develop the skills to evaluate the role of the natural environment on business management and strategy, operations, supply chain, product innovation, and marketing.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution
  • An undergraduate cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale, although other factors can be considered in the decision for admission.
