Academic Advising

Here at Manhattan College, our promise to you includes a highly personal college education, crafted to meet your specific and unique needs. We pride ourselves on being able to offer more personal, one-on-one contact and support than most other colleges. To that end, each school provides the service of an academic advisor, as well as faculty advisors. They can assist you with major selection and course scheduling, and give you helpful advice on double majors, minors and any other program of study. Not sure which major to choose? Your advisor can offer expert advice, tailored specifically for your ideal career path. Having a dedicated academic advisor will help you get the most out of the many opportunities available for you at Manhattan, and help you feel in control of your education and your future.

In the School of Engineering, Richard Schneider is the academic advisor for all first-year students. Once you’ve decided on a program and completed your first year, you are advised by the chairperson of your specific department or designated faculty member.  For more information, read the School of Engineering Advising Manual.
