Opening Weekend for the Class of 2019: August 28-30

Welcome Class of 2019! To kick-off your first year at Manhattan College, we require all incoming freshmen to take part in the excitement of Opening Weekend. This three-day event is designed to help you smoothly transition to college life. Attendance at all sessions throughout the weekend is mandatory.

Day 1 - Friday, August 28

Opening Weekend will begin with meeting the deans and faculty in your respective schools. The President of Manhattan College, Dean of Students, faculty and student leaders will then formally welcome the Class of 2019 at New Student Convocation.

Day 2 - Saturday, August 29

On the second day, the Student Life department will host interactive workshops about what to expect in your first year of college. You will also embark on an excursion into the heart of New York City. The Class of 2019 will then gather in the Student Commons for an evening of community-building activities.

Day 3 - Sunday, August 30

Opening Weekend will conclude with an afternoon of neighborhood walking tours, as well as intramural sports, board games and fitness competitions. Sunday evening is the first Mass of the school year, followed by a dessert reception.
