Dr. Betty Boyd Caroli, historian and biographer of first ladies in the United States, will speak at Manhattan College on Saturday, March 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Capalbo Room of De La Salle Hall.

Authors Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver and Priscilla Warner will speak about their acclaimed book The Faith Club in Manhattan College’s Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Manhattan College will host a free screening of the acclaimed documentary Call+Response on Thursday, March 26 at 8:00 p.m. in Smith Auditorium.

Manhattan College’s Engineering Awareness Program, which aims to introduce high school students to potential careers in the various fields of engineering, will be held for the 28th straight year in July.

Manhattan College has named Dr. Brennan O’Donnell as its 19th president, effective July 1, at which time Br. Thomas Scanlan, F.S.C., will step down from his position after nearly 22 years of leadership.

Best-selling author and journalist Hooman Majd, a new voice on Iran, one of the United States’ top foreign policy concerns, will speak at Manhattan College on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 4:00 p.m. in the William J. Scala Academy Room of Leo Hall.

Dr. Ben Kiernan, author and editor of numerous works on recent events in Southeast Asia, will speak at Manhattan College on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Smith Auditorium.

Manhattan College presented John Magliano ’66, chairman of Syska Hennesssy Group, Inc., with the De La Salle Medal at the College’s annual fundraising dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at The Waldorf=Astoria in New York City.

The school of business at Manhattan College has received an extension of accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the premier accrediting agency for business programs worldwide.

Manhattan College has partnered with WCBS-TV New York on a special sponsorship of television advertising and web programming scheduled to cover the Jan. 20 inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama.
