Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national honor society for health pre-professionals, was founded in 1926 to encourage and recognize excellence in pre-professional health scholarship. It functions as both an honor society and a service organization encouraging members to participate in civic engagement activities.

The honor society produces a biennial publication, The Scalpel, and provides opportunities for members to attend an annual convention and compete for scholarships.

Manhattan University established its chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta in 2017.
