The Women’s Lecture Series is part of Manhattan College’s yearlong celebration of 40 years of coeducation at Manhattan, which is sponsored by the Dean of Students Civility Project. The College will announce additional lectures for the spring semester in the coming months.
The schedule of discussions for the fall semester include:
- Monday, Sept. 9: Author, feminist and professor Carol Gilligan will launch the series and share her professional experience publishing her 1982 book, In a Different Voice, which focuses on gender studies. She is currently a professor at New York University.

- Tuesday, Oct. 1: Military veteran Melissa Stockwell will address the community and tell how she recovered from losing a limb from a roadside bomb in Iraq to becoming an Olympian.
