Mechanic

Hours:
Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Duties:

Under minimal supervision, operates and maintains buildings’ heat, air conditioning and emergency systems to ensure proper working order at all times. Troubleshooting and repairs on various types of equipment a must. Performs heavy maintenance work on motors, pumps, boilers and other H.V.A.C. Assists plumber, installs equipment, performs preventive maintenance, uses B.M.S. to monitor building systems. May have to cover Fireman shift, as needed. Reports to Supervisor for Plumbing and Heating.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write and speak the English language as required. Understand and read blueprints and electrical schematics. Requires a certificate of fitness F.D.N.Y.; F-60, G-60 and P-99 along with the knowledge of boiler operation. NYS Driver’s License with at least one to three years experience in a Boiler plant operation.
