Assistant Professor of Biology
The Department of Biology is seeking to fill a tenure-track position in Physiological Ecology (animal systems preferred) at the assistant professor rank, beginning Fall 2014. The successful candidate will teach within our freshman and sophomore course sequences (General Biology, Ecology, or Evolution), an upper-division course for majors, as well as other courses for non-majors. The selected candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain an independent and active research program, mentor and advise undergraduate students in academics and research, supervise undergraduate student research, and provide service to the profession, university and program. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in the development of a new M.S. in Environmental Science curriculum. A Ph.D. in biological sciences and a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship is required. Postdoctoral experience would be highly desirable.
