The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor rank beginning with the Fall 2014 semester. A doctorate degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering is required. Additional requirements are an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and a professional engineering license or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable period of time.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate (MS level) engineering mechanics courses and geotechnical courses, such as soils, foundations, geology, as well as other civil engineering-related courses. In addition the candidate will be expected to initiate and sustain a scholarly research program. Candidates will be evaluated on the above requirements, as well as academic background, professional experience, communication skills, and potential for excellence in teaching, scholarly and professional activity and service to the College.
