Yongwook Kim

Associate Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering

Dr. Kim has more than 15 years of industry experience in engineering, design and analysis of a wide variety of structural engineering problems, prior to joining Manhattan College. 

For his doctorate degree, he has performed research on aluminum structures through numerical, theoretical and experimental studies. His research findings were incorporated in the Specification for Aluminum Structures (US) and published in peer reviewed journal papers.

Dr. Kim’s interests include analysis of aluminum & cold-formed steel structures; blast and dynamic impact analysis for security structures; structural engineering and design optimization; flood resistant design subjected to hurricanes and other natural disasters; database assisted design (DAD) for wind loads.
