Br. Patrick Horner

Adjunct, English

Br. Patrick was born in Yonkers, N.Y. He was a student at Manhattan Prep (the College's now defunct preparatory school) for one year from 1959-60. Prior to coming to Manhattan College, Br. Patrick taught at La Salle Institute in Troy, NY (1968-75). He credits this teaching experience as having had the greatest impact on his life as a Brother. Br. Patrick has been a member of the English department at the College since 1977. He is a Giants fan and, of course, a Jaspers fan. Br. Patrick is interested in sports, especially golf, and enjoys opera and classical music as well as reading books on history and political biography.

    The literature of medieval England, with particular attention to the importance of religious prose (especially sermons) in both Latin and the vernacular.
