Bronx Zoo Summer Teaching Fellowship
The Bronx Zoo Education Department’s Teaching Fellowship program is a unique opportunity for college students, recent graduates, and graduate students to explore conservation education in-depth. Fellows acquire the skills needed to provide a wildlife classroom that invites and fosters student-directed learning, and learn pertinent information about conservation issues with a global impact. Particular emphasis is placed on the Wildlife Conservation Society’s efforts to protect wildlife and wild lands.
Summer Fellowship: The summer fellowship begins mid-June and runs for eleven weeks. Summer fellows must be able to work Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm for all eleven weeks.
Specific Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have a strong academic background in one or more of the following areas – zoology, ecology, conservation biology, and education. Experience working with children in either formal or informal settings preferred. The ability to confidently teach science content to a variety of audiences and an interest in wildlife conservation are essential.
