Scholarships & Financial Aid

General Scholarships

There are a few scholarships specifically for undergraduate study abroad. You must apply a year in advance for some, so it is wise to plan ahead if you want to apply. There are some scholarships that don’t cover all your expenses, but can be useful to cover part of it. You should also check the government website for the country where you are studying. There are an increasing number of scholarships available to minority and on-traditional students.

Scholarship Resources

Manhattan College Scholarships and Awards

If you are on scholarship at Manhattan College, a portion of your scholarship money may apply to the Manhattan College semester abroad programs and full Manhattan College scholarship money will apply to the MICEFA Program in Paris, the LaSalle Barcelona Exchange Program and the Mexico City Exchange Program.

This scholarship was established to memorialize Kate’s life. This scholarship is meant to help other students take advantage of the many historic and cultural opportunities in London.

Financial Aid

Federal Aid

Federal aid can be legally used for study abroad as long as the program you attend has been approved for credit by your home institution. State aid is similar. If you are already using financial aid at Manhattan College and you remain registered while participating in a study abroad program, that aid can be applied to your foreign studies. Consult the Student Financial Services offices for specifics on aid money when studying abroad.
