all students in the School of Science complete the arts core courses in addition to their major requirements.

Course Highlights

Introduction to Environmental Science (ENSC 101)

As the world's population grows, humans are placing a greater demand on earth resources, increasing pollution and causing a rapid change in the Earth’s climate, chemical cycles and ecosystems. The purpose of the course is to introduce the field of environmental science and examine the environment from a scientific viewpoint. Through lectures, hands-on activities, field trips, movies, presentations and discussions based on current news, students build the scientific framework necessary to understand environmental issues such as global warming, overpopulation, alternative energy systems and green agriculture.
