Sigma Xi

Sigma Xi was founded in 1886 at Cornell University to reward excellence in scientific research and to encourage a sense of companionship and cooperation among scientists in all fields. The society now has more than 500 chapters in the United States, and additional chapters overseas. The chapters and clubs are found wherever scientific research is undertaken in North America: in universities, colleges, industrial research facilities and government laboratories.
