Digital Media Art

Program Overview

The digital media art minor is one of four minors offered by the Visual & Performing Arts department. The minors in this department are designed to supplement majors in numerous disciplines. Courses in the digital media arts seek to conceptualize the world in a complete digital environment and thus help students to acquire the skills necessary to compete in the realms of information technology and new media, as well as formulate a variety of technical skills that enable students to advance their own artistic inquiries.

All the courses in the digital media arts present extensive instruction using the latest Adobe and Apple software applications in a complete Apple iMac environment. Students may take advantage of internship programs placing students with record labels, local radio stations, New York City museums, private art galleries, music and graphic art magazines, production companies, and graphic design firms.
