Jennifer Adarna '13

Distinguished Lasallian Student 2011-12

Jennifer Lynn Adarna is a remarkable, rare person who brings her gifts and talents with her and shares them with others. She is also a bright and ambitious student in her Junior Year. Jennifer has worked for the Business Manager’s office for three years and has maintained a high G.P.A.

She is devoted to her Catholic faith and helps serve breakfast after Sunday Mass at her parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in South Ozone Park, New York. She is in the Business Honors Society, Beta Alpha Psi. Also, a volunteer member of the P.O.T.S. program serving food and distributing clothing to those in need in the Fordham Bronx neighborhood, and has performed 16 community service hours this year.

Jennifer is the Vice President of Academic Affairs, within the Student Government Office. In this new position, she has dedicated her time to insuring that students are provided with the best opportunities academically. She is organizing and asserting the interest in transitioning to block scheduling for the next academic year.

Jennifer is also a Resident Assistant in Jasper Hall and has been recognized by Br. Robert Berger for her effort in taking this responsibility very seriously and in supporting the residents with her time and planning ideas for social and networking events. She is a member of VITA (Volunteer, Income, Tax, Assistant) offering her knowledge and skills to low income families doing their tax returns for free.

Jennifer has a wonderful personality and smile. I have had the opportunity to benefit from her personable, kind and considerate nature and her hard work ethic.  She can be a great friend and very supportive to anyone that she observes having a difficult time with work, class work or a personal matter. She has displayed her strong character by working as the Conference Coordinator this past summer through our office. She worked tirelessly and beyond the scope of her position, in order to provide the camp leaders and guests with quality customer service. When faced with an obstacle or dilemma, Jennifer can stay focused and reserves her energy to tackle the problem and alleviate stress from others. More importantly, Jennifer’s basic nature is humble and considerate of others feelings, while strong to provide both instructional guidance and assistance to anyone, thereby making her an excellent candidate and now the recipient of the first Distinguished Lasallian Student Award.

Congratulations Jennifer Lyn Adarna!
